Not sure if you know, or if you are a mod maker, but this EXACT ship appeared in a mod for Star Wars: Empire at War Forces of Corruption. If you didn't help them, or give permission to use your design, they might have lifted it off of you. :/
I saw these during the stress test...and they're way cool...but...considering how far back in the past this is supposed to have taken, aren't they a little too close in design to the "modern" star destroyers? They look more like star destroyers than the ones used during the Clone Wars.
Anyways, just me quibbling, this is a great picture!
Awesome looking ship with some great details. Love the lights.
Although I do hope this isn’t a ship that will show up in the Star Wars Old Republic game since it does look way to much like the Star Destroyer from episode 4-6 or the Republic Attack Cruiser and the Republic Assault Ship from episode 1-3.
Actually if I remember correctly this is the design used in certain comics (not sure if said comics were directly related to the game but I know they were set in the Old Republic era) so can't blame BioWare for this one. Actually if my impression of it all is right, the Republic Assault Ships from Ep 1-3 were made specifically for the Clone Trooper Army, not the Republic in general. The design of those ships and the clone trooper armor carried over when the Republic becomes the new Galactic Empire that we know in Ep 4-6.
Since the whole thing was one big plot (Order 66) made by Darth Sidious, I can't help but feel the design of the ships and trooper armor was intentionally based off older design, suggesting that design was the Sith Empire ships and Republic Trooper armor in the Old Republic era. The ships used in KOTOR were 300 years prior to SWTOR, so the triangular design could have been made during that time while the Sith Emperor was making his long term plans of returning the Sith to known galactic space. I could be mistaken and this is just baseless opinion, but it makes sense to me at least.
Even compared to the Interdictor class ships seen in Knights of the Old Republic, this one still looks to much like the traditional movie era ships. It just has to much of that triangular look that’s still about 900 years to early. Like it was the original design for Vaders flagship or something. Kind of disappointing really. Maybe they will give some sort of explanation beyond the typical “it’s the direction we wanted to go with it” excuse from BioWare lately about its origin in the game. Still is a cool ship design…

Ship design is just one of the problems of the old republic visual style. Look at the trooper armors... they look like republic clones. And the whole colorful appeal that the ingame graphics have is very reminiscent of the clone wars tv series. Kotor uniqueness is a thing of the past. Maybe Bioware didn't wanted to risk again by taking a bold direction like that. After all, this is a mmorpg with millions of dollars of budget. They must aim to the widest audience possible. So it must look like classic star wars.
That sucks. I havent really paid much attention to the game since I don’t have the money to play it (unemployed)and I’m not convinced yet if its worth playing. BioWare has changed over the last few years and not for the better since EA bought them.
